The Wedding - At the Temple

The temple. This was definitely the best part of the day - as it should be. The temple ceremony was, of course, beautiful. It was touching to see a few tears run down Trevor's face and see his absolute love for Caitlin and joy that this day was finally here. I think there were times he thought it would never come. The weather was perfect and I cherished reuniting with family on the temple grounds as we waited for the newly weds to come out. It was the first time all of the Barth/Robbins family had been all together in a few years.

A Visit to Utah

I love an excuse to visit Utah. As much as we wish we could visit at will, with plane ticket prices as high as they are, it usually requires a formal event to justify the cost. This time, Caitlin's wedding was the excuse. We flew in several days early to take advantage of time with family.

One of our free days we went to visit Rob's dad's grave and temple square.

Temple square was probably the prettiest I'd ever seen it. The tulips were perfect and in full bloom. We also got a chance to meet Elder Bednar and Elder Holland on the elevator when we visited the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. I love sharing temple square with my children and we take advantage of it every time we visit Utah.

Aunt Ris spent a day with the kids, including Liesl's,  and entertained them with bubbles.

Spring Saturdays are for Soccer

This spring Alex started his first year of soccer. Most of our Saturday mornings were spent at the soccer field cheering on our favorite little athlete. It was a great family activity. Some days Addilyn and Maycie had a hard time discovering their enthusiasm for the Saturday morning activity, but Isaac sure enjoyed chasing the ball and cheering for his big brother.

B is for Baby Bird and Braids

One day Alex ran inside to tell me that a bird let him pet it. Intrigued, I came out to see what he meant. There on the ground were two baby cardinals. Sadly, Tiger (the cat) had already gotten to one so I ran to rescue the other. Alex and I admired it for a bit while I tried to figure out what to do with it. It was on the verge of learning to fly and the momma cardinal was stressed to the max trying to figure out how to get her baby back safe and sound. I made a couple calls to bird people to see what they suggested. Not much help. I finally ended up putting the baby bird in a bucket with straw and hanging it high in a tree branch where it's momma could find it. Don't ask me what happened after that. The bucket was empty a few hours later. Hopefully the cat didn't find it.

Maycie loves for me to do her hair. She looked so sweet with her crown of braids.

New Neighbors

Finally! The perfect move-ins. Remember as a kid when a neighborhood house sold and you'd wonder who the new neighbors would be and maybe even wish for it to be your new best friend or a cute boy? As an adult when new neighbors move I still have a wish. It's for mild mannered, kind kids that I approve of my kids playing with to move in. I couldn't have hand picked a better senario for my new neighbors. So, meet the new neighbors. Shea is 14 and loves to babysit. Ella is 8 and she and Addilyn were bossom buddies from the moment they met.  Avery is 6 and is happy to play with anyone. Noah is 5 and loves to do the boy stuff just like Alex. It's like a block party every evening in our cul-de-sac. All the kids, older and younger, playing in the quiet street while the grown ups shoot the breeze.
